Default Lowering An SC400!!! Please help!!!!!!

Ok, I want to get new rims that are size 19in. If i get really low profile tires and 1in lowering springs should that maintain about the stock height? Also how hard is it for a garge to install lowering springs? Do you run any risks after puting them on (Tires hitting wheel wells on bumps etc.) Thanks....

it should maintain stock height with only a 1' drop, it's not hard to install springs, you just need a spring compressor, 1' drop on 19s won't affect anything, you won't hit your wheel wells if your offsets are correct...

i have staggered 19s and dropped almost 1.8-2.0' and i don't rub or hit my wheel wells, you just have to make sure the offsets of the wheels you are getting are precise

Sorry im not very good at this kind of thing. Do you know what offsets would be needed for a 1993 lexus sc400 with one inch drop? Im looking for 19in wheel with low profile tires (what would be a good size) Thanks so much!

how wide are you getting the wheels in? you can do a search, there are countless threads about SC offsets, just search, i don't kno exactly the correct ones, but for me, i have 19x8.5 in the front with a +37 offset wrapped in 245/35 and 19x10 in the back with a +44 offset wrapped in 275/30

when you had the 18" C2 what was your wheel and tire setup: size offset, etc.

I think it was 235/40/18 with +45 but what width where the wheels?

thanks man

My shocks and springs are arriving next week.

I would like to draw on the knowledge of the CL members to hook me up with some instructions and suggestions from their experiences. Everything from the basics...to things I should consider or avoid. I have read enough on this site to know that I should be replacing my bushing, but I can't this time round.

I would truly appreciate your help and feedback
