replacing airbags
hey guys i was wondering do you have to replace your airbags after a couple years?? do they go bad after a long time or something?? if so how much does this usually cost? TIA
Question 1: No
Q 2: no, not that I'm aware of
Q 3: too damn much
However, the Lexus owners manual recommends a complete check of the SRS when the car reaches 10 yrs of age, and then reinspect every 2 years thereafter. The is no mention of replacing the bags. You should only have to do this in the event of a collision, or if the airbag warning light indicates a failure in the bag unit itself.

If you're really worried about safety then get a chassis brace and some racing seats with harnesses, it'll be cheaper than playing around with the SRS system...
