Guys,
I recently bought an SC400 (93) that has 18" wheels - 18x10 in the rear and 18x9 in the front. with stock suspension. Within the past week I have had a front and rear tire blow out. Upon removing the tires I found the entire inside part of the tire is down to the steel belt, while the rest of the tire still has decent tread.
I showed a mechanic and he said that it is waaay too bad to just be regular camber problems.
I don't have a whole lot of money so any advice would be appreciated before I give my paycheck to my mechanic!!
Thx,
Jonny

Must be the wrong offset or the tire is way too wide for the rims....

Hey man,
The offset on the tires is +45 so I thought that was right. The rear tires are 265/35/18 and the front are 245/40/18. Do these sound too big??? What do u suggest?? Do u think smaller tires and an alignment would be the cure or will I still need a camber kit?? How much does that run?
Thx

Does your car pull to the left or right? Did you check how the tires were when you bought them? Maybe they were already out when you bought them. The sizes you haven't aren't big at all. Bring your car to a place like Sears and have them do a alignment check for you. After they are finished, drive around for a bit and see how the car drives. If any problems, turn around and go back in =)
