. . .joking of course
I ask (for that one poor bastard that reads this and doesn't get to the "joking" part) that this post be edited by the original poster.

That would be me. . .

Sorry, no editing, but I will admit that my posting was done at a rather sarcastic point in my day. No harm intended. I'm simply in agreeance with what seems to be every other member on how dead-set this new lexus owner is on layin rubber. I think, however, that most of us can relate. I just didn't go through that stage with a $45000 luxury car.

On another note, I pick up my 95 black on black SC400 today! I've been searching for 3 months and finally found my baby! I'll try to post some pics if anybody is interested. . .

If he wants to peel out in his car, I say let him.

The novelty will soon wear off.

Congrats on finding a black on black SC4....it took me 9 months to find mine. Most black 95s have grey leather. I guess I wanted to go with the Darth Vader look. So, post up those pics and lets see what you found!

Will do! I got tired of my black on tan, and always wanted black on black anyway. It's meant to be because I got on the internet tuesday and did a search, it just happened to be 7 miles away! And it's in excellent condition. I'll just have to have the timing belt changed fairly soon. . .

It's not that Im so intent on peeling out, its just that I tried and couldn't do it, and I'm wondering WHY since my friend can peel out his grandam all day long but I can't seem to peel out my 225hp lexus.

It has a lot to do with the torque gearing and the gear ratios. This car was meant to be a highway cruiser, not a stop sign ho.

Like lex400sc said, our cars (300) don't have much down low, they're better suited to highway runs..........
Notice the rpm which our torque peaks at:

Quote:
Torque: 210 ft-lbs. @ 4800 rpm

Yeah that doesn't make any sense. The grand am is an auto unless you get the 4 cylinder. Even the 3.4L V6 doesn't have as much torque as the sc (205@4000). I'd say it's because it's FWD, hence weight shift and less power loss, but then again there's more static weight on the drive wheels. The tires are both 225 mm wide.

It could be that the Grand Am is about 3100 pounds. So say that the Grand Am has a 60/40% weight distribution, that's 1860 lbs on the front wheels. The SC has about 54/46 @ 3600 lbs so that's 1650 lbs on the rear wheels. But if the car moves a bit, then the weight will transfer to the rear.

If you want to try peeling out, take out your spare tire and have half a tank of gas. That'll take off about 130 lbs off the rear.

to save bandwidth, you want to do a burnout, do as mentioned above.

foot on brake, foot on gas. Press both til you lose traction, release foot on brake when you hear traction break on tire. This should work with any condition. I suggest you try to make sure your car is well maintained vs. trying to wreck your vehicle which is implied by your comments. You are in a Lexus, not a Pontiac. You should not worry about what he can or can't do in his vehicle as there is no comparison.

You have a car that can be turbocharged to INSANE levels
You have a car that is classy, timeless, and downright sexy
You have a car that supports large wheels and tires with a varying range of offsets
You have a car that still turns heads
You have a car that makes you feel good about driving
You have a car that is getting more positive publicity because of its platform
You have the Sexy Coupe, the Star Car, the Super Coupe. Rejoice and be glad.

I hope this makes sense to you
