Post Outside temperature guage question

Mine reads -22 degrees. Is there a way to fix this? I've searched around and found that there is a sensor in the front grill? Where exactly is this located and what does it look like? Also, will an incorrect outside temperature reading affect the interior climate control system?
Thanks
Zac

the sensor is located on the bottom of the front aluminum reinforcement bar behind the bumper.

I believe its attracted to the inner front part of the front bumper..Its this black tube about 3 inches long that says Denso on it..You should buy a new one if yours is messed up...I don't think its that expensive..

Thanks man- the problem really isn't going to be a big deal unless it affects the hvac system. Do you know if it does?

Ok- was just wondering because the hvac temp set at like 69 is pretty hot in my car, and it has to be on max cold for the a/c in the summer, and from what i've read that's not common.

If thats the case, the interior temperature sensor may be bad. its located below the ignition behind what looks like a little vent.

95BlackSC,

The outside temp. sensor does affect the hvac system. I know because the plug that connects to the sensor on my car is broken and occasionally it looses the connection, the temp display shows -22 and the car get very hot inside.

My 95 uses the clock display to show the outside temp.

Default outside temp sensor

Yes, you definitely need a properly functioning temp sensor to get the AC to work correctly. I've found that with an inop sensor, the AC tends to be all on, or all off, not a lot of control over intermediate temperatures. I'd check the voltage output from the sensor, and the wiring, and if not correct, get a new one, that should solve your problems.

Is the temp. displayed next to the time? Or do you have to toggle the display to get the temp?

Thanks

Hmmm... how?

Mine doesn't seem to toggle no matter what I press on the dash. The buttons simply reset the clock.
