I have not used this company personally but from what I've seen they stand behind their work. Only concern may be cost.

I haven't sent anything in to Tanin for many months but always had good experiences with them. My last was a good condition Supra MKIV TT ECU which they did a standard re-cap service for by special request. Before that I had a lot of work done on my instrument cluster. I did need one thing on the cluster tweaked after initially receiving it following their repairs and sent it back in. They addressed the concern I had without issue and other than a little more downtime between the back and forth shipping I was happily back up and running again once I got it back.

Before all of that in previous years I had sent in a few model year SC300 M/T ECUs in to them for preventative maintenance re-cap servicing and they always treated me well.

Tanin has a small staff to do all their customer work orders so it is to be expected they can't be lightning fast on turnaround but 4-5 days to work on your ECU after they have it in hand is pretty good. They are very, very thorough. And last I asked they still have at least one SC shop car at their offices to do final QC testing for SC300 and SC400 ECUs.

I haven't used SIA yet but several owners here also seem to be happy with their work and say good things about them.

Thank you Kahn, That is very reassuring, hearing it from the Man himself. I hadn't seen much about them here in the forum lately. I can send the ECU with peace of mind now.
They have the only video about that on You Tube. I'll be doing that myself...should be interesting

Happy to help! And the thread LeX2K sent is great

The folks at Tanin have been working on Lexus SC, LS, ES and other Lexus instrument clusters, ECUs, climate control units and some other OEM electronics since the very early 2000's. They also service a range of other clusters and electronics for other specific makes and models but the original 90's Lexus range of models (and especially SC's) are what they started with and stay with.

They are usually very active on this forum and respond pretty quickly to inquiries or questions.

Which video are you referring to on youtube? Does it show how to remove the ECU from the passenger footwell?

Tanin did my ECU refresh several years ago - no issues.

I also had them do my cluster in 2021 and change the lighting. I had to send it back once (under warranty) because the "temp" needle was sitting very low even when the car was warm - they fixed it and sent it back.

Recently, one of the LEDs they did in the cluster died, so there is a dead spot in the lighting, but they have already said its good to send back and they will warranty that also.

So far, I've been happy with their service, even with the issues I've had. I'm going to send them my AC unit soon to do the backlighting on that as well.

Sent my ECU a couple of years ago. I think email is the best method. Good communication, will probably send them my cluster and AC as well... I'm having stalling issues again, but I think the culprit is fuel.. Got Mobil with some corn mixed in and it's been the worst week ever... lol..

Another +1 for Tanin, they repaired the odometer on my SC's gauge cluster. Great service.
