Default Annoying Lexus app "security alerts"

Lexus app is the only automotive application that demands that I add passcode/PIN to my personal phone.
I have one of those on my work phone, but have ZERO interest in adding those to personal devices that may be used to access Lexus app.
I also don't see the point of Lexus attempting to dictate my personal phone security practices. No other OEM's app (or even banking apps) attemp such over-reach.

If Toyota/Lexus is monitoring this - please stop this nonsense and make it go away!

Thanks,
a

This is just a guess, but I would speculate this is due to the digital key. Lexus is a very conservative car company and likely doesn’t want the liability of effectively having the car key on an unsecured phone. Oh, and I have serious doubts Lexus pays much attention to discussion forums (I wish they did though).

Tesla and BMW also have digital keys, yet impose no such requirements.
BTW, they can be circumvented easily - set the PIN lock and launch the app once, then disable it.
However, the obnoxious lock comes back again after every app update.

Conservative - yes, in a semi-backwards sense.
Liability from how my phone is used or secured - nonsense!
No other automaker does anything of the kind.

There is only one way to find out!
