Loan your RZ to a grandma daily driver for a month. I'd bet with that driving style factored into the range-o-meter it will show increased range.

If instead you loan it to teenage boy racer for that same time, I'd bet it comes back with abysmally low range estimations.

As others have said above, the range computer factors in past driving data.

I remember the old days of gasoline shortages, gasoline rationing, and gas station waiting lines when we tried changing driving styles to get the most range we could eke out on the $3.00 worth of gasoline you could buy only on odd or even days, depending upon the last digit of your license plate. AC off, windows up, coasting down hills, losing 10 mph going uphill, turning engines off if stopped over one minute, 55 mph interstate speed limits, emptying the trunk to reduce weight, pretending a raw egg was between your right foot and the accelerator pedal; those were all part of the game to go more miles on your $3.00 of gasoline (at the sky-high cost of 85 cents per gallon). To put that in perspective, a first year public high school teacher salary in Atlanta was then $6,000 per year.
