FS: Wood & Leather Steering Wheel (56k!! LARGE Pictures)
I have a tan leather & wood 2001+ RX steering wheel that I bought a couple years ago and never used. It has a few nicks and scratches on the wood that are not evident in the picture below. The leather is in excellent condition. It is missing the plastic cover that goes on the left side of the steering wheel (see picture below). It does have the cruise control.
Price is $150 plus shipping to wherever you are.
It is my understanding that this wheel also fits other model Lexus vehicles as some vehicles used the same steering wheel. I am making no claims as to whether or not it will fit - please check to be sure. Feel free to contact me with any questions or more pictures.

If you feel more comfortable talking over the phone, email or PM me and I'll send you my phone number.
Thanks.
EDIT: Let me also add that there are two screws used to hold the airbag in place. This wheel only came with one when I bought it, and still has it as you can see in the picture. If you are replacing a steering wheel/airbag, those screws should fit.

Still for sale. I've had a lot of interest, but few getting back to let me.
Will, apologies for not contacting you - the steering wheel has been at my house all week but I have not. If you are still interested, let me know. I still have your number.

I'm thinking this for my wife's 01 RX. Questions:
1. Missing plastic cover...can it be sourced from my regular steering wheel? If I can't find a cover, is the hole visible only from the driver's side door area?
2. Is removal/replacement a plug-n-play operation?
3. Would my stock airbag fit in your wooden wheel?
4. Missing screw...anything else that is needed in order to install this in working order?
Thanks.

whitels, since you have a 2001, you will be able to use the cover from your existing wheel. You will also be able to use your two screws that you already have holding your airbag down. Your airbag will fit - no modifications are necessary. You will probably need a steering wheel puller to get your wheel off before sliding the wood/leather wheel on. They are inexpensive and available at most auto parts stores.

I hope you enjoy it, I would have loved to have it on my RX, but gave up because of the airbag difference on my 2000 vs. the 2001. I've noticed many used Lexus wood/leather wheels for sale have cracked urethane coatings over the wood - there are none on this one and hopefully it arrives the same after shipping. I wouldn't worry though, it is firmly packed.

There's a box by the door!!!
Wow, that was one fast shipping from LexRX. I opened the box and the steering wheel was carefully packed inside. This is one beautiful wood steering wheel... truly a work of art. LexRX included a detailed installation instructions which was very easy to follow. It took me all of 30 minutes to install the steering wheel. When it was finished, the interior was transformed to jaw-dropping elegance. No doubt the wood steering wheel alone has a tremendous impact. It completed the wood trimmings inside. This is one mod that should be done by all. Thanks LexRX.
Here's a picture.

Wow, I'm jealous! You said your RX is a 2001, did you notice if the airbag had a single or double plug on the back?
It was a pleasure dealing with a fellow member. Now you have a spare wheel - or something to sell to recoup funds

Thanks guys.
LexRX, the airbag has one plug in the middle. The plug has two yellow wires.
This 01 model was manufactured 9/00. There might have been design changes during the later years. Understand some have two plugs?

Yeah, I believe all other Lexus airbags of that same style/shape from 2001+ have a red and black plug on the back. The RX's airbag for 2001 was the only one that did not. But, you say one plug and two yellow wires - is it a single yellow wiring harness?
All the 2001+ three-spoke wheel airbags I have seen on ebay have always been the dual-plug. The 2001 RX airbag is hard to come by.

LexRX,
It has a single yellow harness plugged into the middle part of the back of the airbag. Two tiny wires come out of the contacts, and these two wires then run inside a yellow plastic conduit/wrap/hose.
