I got a 2010 RX350 and I was wondering if there was a way to add a sunglasses holder to the area where the SOS button is. I don't plan on paying for the service or use it and I much rather have the sunglasses holder. Thanks for the help!
I was gonna ask that question to the dealer. I beleive so that it can be replaced but that's just my assumption. Call your closest dealer and see what they say.

Please let us know of your findings. I know the earlier build of the 2010 have the holder. If we can get the part, it should be a simple swap.
yes you can find the part number (in fact someone on here did) but I believe the whole panel needs to be replaced, not just the SOS button/sunglass holder
This is interesting. I have a 2008 Cadillac CTS in addition to the 2011 RX. The CTS I purchased new did not come with a homelink opener. (hard to believe for a Cadillac) I searched for over two years to find a new/used overhead console with the homelink opener and finally found one on ebay several months age. Like our RX the entire console had to be replaced. The replacement console came with the homelink opener, lights, switches, and sunroof controls and was $68 for LKQ. It also came with a guarantee. That is a long way from the $260 they want for the Lexus console and it has no guarantee. As my old service once said, "Well sir, you are driving a Lexus." Big DEAL!!! FYI, I would like to do this as well, but not for $260 for a used console with fewer features.
Another "clawback" feature of the 3rd gen vs the second.Just like:no more armrests,no more under the trunk storage for the tonneau cover,no Lexus logo step panel lights and loss of in cabin storage spaces....
My daughter's '98 Corolla has a sunglass storage compartment!
^^ I agree about the sunglass holder but in Lexus' defense, the 3rd gen RX did debut with one, its just that the new telematics system took over the space. Also many people didnt like the captain chair armrests and thought they were in the way. I also agree about the lack of storage space under the floor like the old RX, but this was also changed because owners hated the spare tire under the car where salt would make it rust. To fix that, they moved the spare tire into the trunk, which took up the storage space
Maybe someone should create one to fit inside the cavernous middle console or the void underneath the cup holders. Now I don't use the sunglass holder so it's a moot issue for me.
