I've decided to go with a mesh grille.
This one is the T-Rex from CarID. It's a complete replacement, not just an insert. It'll be here in a week or so and I'll take it to my mech for installation. He owes me a claybar and a wax so I'm going to get the rear debadged (except for the L) and have this grille installed but no L.

Geez Tim, I didn't point out your body kit looks like Bart Simpson's shoe did I? I've always preferred mesh to bars, guess that's why they make 31 flavors of Baskin Robbins!

Carver good luck with the grill. You shouldn't need a mechanic to install it as it super simple to replace the grill on an RX. It's not too my tastes as I find that grill a bit "too much" and find it looks a little out of place on the RX (especially all chromed out). Maybe if the mesh was black......

I'm going to try for next week if the shop can get to the claybar/wax/debadging. I haven't forgotten my promise to get some pics of the Learherique process but it's been over 105 everyday here and that's in the shade! As soon as it breaks a bit I'll be out there slathering.

I have seen a Cadillac ad and heck it has a similar grille. Looks like more of the same type coming on new cars.

In all it's meshian glory...
I have a collection of grille badges and this one is from the British Automobile Association. This particular badge was issued in 1960 by the London AA and there is an admonishment on the reverse that the badge MUST be returned to the London AA should you be stripped of privileges and drummed out of the Association. Well, maybe not that severe but they did want it back.
