OK Guys,

I've touched on this issue before. My Wife has an 07 RX350 that we bought from a local used car dealer. It has Bamboo Peal paint on it, and like that paint does, the door handles have pealed and is now discolored. Which was clearly talked about between the salesman and us. He said that if we took it into the local dealership that they would warranty it and put on the new 09 Chrome Door Handles. Well, the Dealer told us to pound sand So we ended up back to the Used Car Dealer, and he said that he would install chrome door handles. My Wife went to pick up the RX today and noticed that the Dealer had installed Chrome plated plastic covers. On eBay these cost $11.99. She told him that this is totally unacceptable, and he replied with "this is how it's done" and that Lexus doesn't make real Chrome Door Handles. WTF?

I don't think dealers sell the real ones, because even L-Tuned parts sells the ebay cover ones, not the actual ones.

The only real ones I have seen, have to be ordered directly from Japan

If they come from Japan, they will be spot on and well built and will not fade.

The ones from Taiwan will over time (could be years) will eventually fade or blister.

All about the cost.

Get the Japan ones. I am so tempted to get them. Gives you an updated look for a reasonable price. But SHE (the driver and boss) does not care about the chrome handles, hence, status quo. Unless I pay for it myself.

 

Check the salvage yards. Chrome was standard on the 2008 RX

The probability of finding an RX330 or for that matter an RX350 in a junkyard is remote if not nil.

To take the handle from the car is not an easy task, either.

I have seen nice chrome covers for the RX. At least one of the members had it and pics were posted. They looked like original, probably from Japan. How much is a set from our vendor? maybe a group buy is teh way to go.

Installation is a breeze.

Does anyone have a picture of an RX with the chrome handles on it? I would have to see the look in order to decide my thoughts on chrome. It must look better on certain colors then others. I could not see it on a black vehicle. Just my thoughts.

 

I believe my 09RX350 came with chrome door handles (maybe because of luxury premium package, or whatever they call it). If you just look around to find a newer RX, you can see what the chrome door handles look like.

 

Luis is working on it. He's emailing the supplier to get a group buy discount.

Guys, heard from Carson-Lexus, best he can do for now is $145 shipped to any address in US 48 states. These come from Japan. They must look good.

So far 4, need 6+ to avail of the $145.

How much are the ones from fleabay which come from Japan? NOT TAIWAN or CHINA.
