Timing Belt Time!
Well the time has come to replace the timing belt. I have found a good reliable place close to where I work, which is good. I have had 3 or 4 other family members cars there for repairs and have been very pleased with price and repair quality. I went back in January for a quote and they were the cheapest around with me supplying half of the parts for the repair. So after having recommended them to people and those people going there for repairs, she reevaluated the quote and gave me a much better price since I have brought lots of business to them and they were very thankful and appreciative. Now I am having them do the Spark plugs, valve cover gaskets (due to tiny leak), timing belt, timing tensioner, Cam seal, water pump, both drive belts, and new coolant (obviously). Can you think of anything else that needs to be done while they are in there?
Thanks,
99rx
P.S. I will be having them call me when they have the valve covers off so I can look inside and see how good the engine looks...I will have pictures...

It has 92,xxx miles and still strong. I use the Valvoline 5w-30 synthetic. But before that maybe 2 years ago I was just taking to a shop close to the house that did it with dino 5w-30 every 3500 miles. After I got the notice in the mail about sludge years ago, I change the oil more frequently.
i would use a high mileage oil, they are not some marketing gimmick. the zinc and phosphorous content really help reduce wear. most diesel has higher zinc and phos. content too but forgot. if you never have run a low weight oil 0w20 for about 100 or so miles and it can really help flush out your system some
