Mine expires in October 2026 and I plan on keeping. I prefer the built in map and would miss the other features. And it automatically shows you all of the Toyota and Lexus dealers as you drive! Just kidding on that one.

When I was at the dealer yesterday for the rear camera safety recall, the service writer said the current renewal subscription is $80 a year, but he wasn't entirely sure whether the renewal features are exactly the same as those during the trial period. Can anyone elaborate on this?

 

I believe it's use of anything on the app. I lost that on my ES years ago when it expired.

 

No — your vehicle location tracking in the Lexus app will NOT disappear when Drive Connect expires.
Location tracking comes from Remote Connect, not Drive Connect. Remote Connect remains active as long as you keep that subscription.

As long as your Remote Connect subscription is active, the Lexus app will continue to show:
• Vehicle location
• Last parked location
• Trip history (if enabled)
• Vehicle status (doors, fuel, etc.)
Remote Connect uses the same built‑in AT&T modem, but it is not tied to Drive Connect.

What you lose when Drive Connect expires
Drive Connect includes:
• Cloud‑based navigation
• Real‑time traffic
• Destination Assist
• Cloud voice commands
These features stop working when Drive Connect ends.
But none of these affect vehicle tracking.
