Just the clips. You have to slide it in.

Are you sliding it in from the front. On my 2024 with ICE there is no clearance there unless you bend the new filter in half and I am not sure if that would work. The good news is removing the MAF wire clip takes ten seconds and allows you to lift the cover just enough

You may not have a lot of actual debris in the filter but it’s a good thing to remove the filter and tap out loose dirt/dust/sand occasionally. I blow mine out with compressed air every once in a while.

I VACUUM our pleated paper filters out, THEN evaluate them.

My parents taught me to be cheap frugal;.

Do the same replace about every 18 months but every six months take them out along with the cabin filter and blow them out and then use shop vacuum.

A blocked air filter can wreck your MAF. Ask me how I know.
