Yes I've tried that out of curiosity and it does work. Are the sensors in the steering wheel itself or somewhere else like the steering hub?

​​​​​​ Not on the steering wheel itself, but not sure if it's in the hub or by the electric assist. Its a torque sensor to sense when you are trying to counteract the motor. Often times I actually have my hand on the wheel in a position where it doesn't even sense it, which is ironically what made me mad enough to try the trick.
