Dashboard scuffing - any solution?
A few hours after purchasing a '22 NX 350 I noticed something like this, only visible in certain lighting. I tried to clean it with a microfiber towel and ruined my dash; I replaced it at quite a cost. I now have a '23 RX that already has spots.
Moral of the story: Don't do anything to harsh to clean your dash. No chemicals, don't scrub, only feather dust or compressed air. Don't set anything on your dash, keep the kids, and wife's purse away. Heck, DONT EVEN LOOK AT YOUR DASH. If it isn't already scuffed, it's worth investing in a nice dash cover.

Thank you, I did try lightly wiping with distilled water and brand new Adams fluffy borderless microfiber super soft towel. Didn't do anything. I dont think this is coming out with water and I doubt a mild detergent will help. The only thing I would imagine would help is to put some sort of conditioner or dressing but I am afraid to do that.
Lesson here is do not clean dashboard at all if possible(seems unrealistic). IF you have to dont put any and I meany any pressure. And if like in my situation your car has an issue in the material dont try to do it on your own and take it back to dealer. I have pictures of the initial flaw so I will be contacting dealer to see if they have a fix and B to show that there was a flaw there to begin with. I am pretty worried about what a nightmare this material will be to maintain and I am wondering if its defective or what.

Another not so bright idea was to use high-gloss paint on the interior trim. It looked good the first day I brought it home. But since then I cannot keep it really clean without using a Windex type product which leaves zero residue. The high gloss shows EVERY little mark and smudge. And of course this painted trim is everywhere but the steering wheel, dashboard and leather trim.
What were you thinking, Lexus????
