I've owned 19 cars in my life and I've never had to babysit a single battery. That includes some British, German, and Italian cars with less that reliable electrical systems. I am incredulous of the level of incompetency Toyota is capable of.

I have an Ionic in both of my two 450h+ models. The unit in my wife's NX always seems to be up in the high 90's, i.e. 97-99% charge level, yet the one in my RX behaves in the same manner as jahnjva's Ionic. It has often dropped way down overnight into the 40% level on occasion, and it is puzzling. When it first occurred, I sent it back to them for review/testing and they could not find any issue after a week. Kinda odd.
