I have 4500 miles on my 2023 RX 350h. When I turn the steering wheel it makes sort of a swishing, perhaps rubbing sound. I have a service appointment in 1 week. Do I need to be concerned? Any idea what this is?

 

Might just be the steering shaft rubbing on its sealing grommet(s) when you turn. A properly-aimed spray of silicone would quiet the noise.

By all means, mention it at the service appointment.

 

Rx350 fsport, Recently I noticed these noises when the steering wheel moves, these noises are very annoying，its 6000miles now, thinink bring back to dealer. Has anyone had this situation?

 

Another thing you can have them look at while you are at it.

I noticed on my 350H that the steering wheel driver monitor camera is rotated about 1-3 degrees to the right. I noticed your car has the exact same issue. If you center the wheel and look at the camera and the left and right stalks (lights and blinkers) you will also see the left one is slightly higher.

I am not sure if this is by design or if they have a plus or minus few degree tolerance when not only centering the wheel hortizontally and ensuring wheel is aligned straight with the front tires, but also centering the azimuth (rotational center) of the entire steering column. However, it looks a little sloppy to me.

When you go to the dealer, I would be curious as to what they say about it. I suspect a whole lot of cars have this misalignment.
