For those of you thinking about removing them yourself they are very easy to remove. On a skill level from 1 to 10 I'd give this a 1 or 2 with the hardest part being the removal of the trim pieces to access the bolts.
Do those of you who had the dealer remove your crossbars have any intel on how (or if) the screw holes were filled or sealed after crossbar removal.
I didn't check if the bolts went into cabin liner area, but assumed they did so too prevent possible moisture ingress I used Teflon tape on the bolt threads, an o-ring on each bolt and also sealed the bolt head with sealant. Maybe overkill but I'd rather not have any leaks.

I remember when I was at the dealer to pick up my 350h, they told me it would be another 30-45 minutes so the tech could install the roof racks and I told them not to install them so they tossed them in the storage area. Every vehicle I have had made noise from the crossbars.
[2024 RX 350h] Each end of the cross bars has a shaped plastic cover that must be removed to gain access to the bolts. The instructions say to use a "plastic trim removal tool" and refer to a pair of small slots at the base of the plastic covers. Can anyone elaborate on exactly how to remove these cover pieces on the cross bars? I've tried a couple things, but I'm afraid I'm going to crack or break it. I've attached a photo showing the slots. What exactly is mean by a "plastic trim removal tool"?

Reason: Add year & model
NO WAAAY!!! The car looks shorter, and it looks bald. This is coming from someone who has had THIRTEEN RXs since 1998. ALWAYS took one with the roof racks. And my new one that I jut picked up yesterday from Lakeway Lexus is the highest price I've paid ever, yet it didn't come with cross bars, only the side rails. I am on this site because I want to remove the cross bars from my current 2024 RX and move them to the new 2025 RX !!!
BTW, these cross bars add value, over $400 on most years. You can see the detailed spec sheets on your car. IF you have them in the attic, as someone mentioned above, make sure you put them back when selling /trading it in!!!
The care looks sportier and taller with roof rails and cross bars. And if you're a guy with a RX without these, you look waaay too gay to drive the RX!
EPA/CAFE rules require all vehicles to be tested/certified with all standard equipment installed.
If you recall most SUV and station wagons used to come with the rails and crossbars included.
While the crossbars and mud flaps and running boards are not particularly expensive, they all
reduce the MPG ratings so they are no longer standard equipment on most cars anymore.

Seems like we are the only 2 people here that like them lol. I agree with what you've said (except the gay part). I've added roof crossbars to my wife's RX (looked nicer / "cooler" / sportier), but she didn't like them so I removed them. I am however getting some crossbars installed on my QX70, looks much nicer.
I removed mine and stored in garage. Although I did not experience the wind noise and reduced gas mileage as some claim. I did not like how the front bar blocks the sun roof when open. By block I mean casts shade/blocks some sunlight on the sunroof. I did not test at high speed with sun roof open to see if the car howls/makes noise from the wind hitting the bars. Regardless, I will keep them in case the need arises to put something on the roof.
