Yes, makes sense. I thought about using the digital sound level meter. I just don't know how effective it would be. Imagine all the road etc. noises interfering with the "culprit" noise when the car is driven. Anyway, I'll do a quick check on the bolts I can access tomorrow.

I had that same exact issue with my prior Cadillac XT5. The noise sounded like it coming from within the dash area but the tech used the stethoscope/microphone type tool and traced it the front left strut. After torqueing the bolts properly it was gone forever. It was tough to track down but they were persistent in their efforts.

Agree. Mine is quiet also so far and the ones I test drove before purchase were the same and there is nothing wrong with my hearing either. I don't believe for a second that every single new RX 350 on the road rattles and cannot be made rattle free. That's a bit of an exaggeration I think. The 2025 NX 350h I had was also quiet. Every car out there no matter the make or model is going to have it's own personality and may or may not creak or flex slightly under the right circumstances in cold weather, etc. and make a slight noise of some sort which is completely normal and reasonable IMO since the car is made from thousands of individual parts.

It's not an exaggeration. If you can't hear it then you are lucky. I've been in a lot of RX and every single one of them rattles. The service manager I work with has been in a lot more RX than me and he agrees they all rattle. Every. Single. One.

If someone really thinks their RX doesn't rattle, please come take me for a test drive. I *want* to be proven wrong on this.

I can assure you that my RX is extremely quiet and does not have any rattle noises. I am EXTREMELY picky on the ride and sound quality of a car. I've never had any of my Hondas (7 of them) or Acuras have any rattles of any kind. Every GM car I owned between 1976 and 1990 (all brand new cars) had rattles in them from day one and it always sounded like the ashtrays and glove boxes were full of nuts and bolts rolling around. My RX is dead quiet, even on the worse pot holed road and rutted train tracks crossings. Maybe you just have bad luck with your cars. I'm always the first one to hear the most minute rattle or squeak in anyone's car.

It's not just the one I bought. It's every - single - one I've been in. According to your profile you're in CA, so you can't really prove to me you have the one good one... But my ask stands -- if someone near me thinks they actually have the one well-built RX, please let me come take a test ride with you. Even the local Lexus dealer hasn't been able to show me one (and high-level employees agree with me that such a vehicle does not exist). I would think if such a thing existed, a dealer with access to literally thousands of RXs could find one. Alas, they cannot.

Likewise here. Zero rattles, absolute dead quiet. I am also super picky and have excellent hearing. Not everyone is as lucky with RX's, it seems. I wonder if people that experience rattles live in a particular climate like very cold or very hot - that creates more rattles from expansion and contraction?

No, I'm sorry but yours does rattle, you are just hearing impaired. And it's not that every one rattles either. It's Every. Single. One. And worse yet it's not fixable and there's nothing you can do about it. You are stuck with it forever it appears 🙄

Oh, you're one of those......got it. And in my statement, everyone here knows exactly what I mean.

Or you could just say what you mean?

Like I've said, several times, you're lucky if you don't hear the rattles. There's also a lot of people who claim the ML audio system is "the best they've ever heard in a vehicle". Which I suppose may be true, for them, but for me it's another disappointment.

I've asked someone to show me a RX that doesn't rattle, and that offer stands. I want to be proven wrong. Thus far, unfortunately, no one has been able to show me a RX that doesn't rattle on a test drive.

I don't want to take away from the enjoyment of your vehicle. If you don't hear it's rattles, then I am genuinely happy for you.

I just checked the driver side front strut, i.e. checked what I see under the hood. I touched the hardware all around and visually assessed. Nothing seems to be loose there. It doesn't mean much because there are strut mount bolts I can't see and touch (they're deep under the plastic cover and, of course, there is more to check when the car is lifted). I guess only dealership would be able to verify whether or not this is indeed a strut mount issue. One of you commented on the geographical region: you bet this is important! I live in Ontario, Canada. The winters here are not terribly cold compared to let's say Dakota but still cold enough. Lots of salt on the roads and lots of potholes everywhere. The summers are mostly nice and hot. Clearly those temperature excursions don't help car parts made of hard plastic (like ABS) and bolted joints (like the strut mounts). Even if you don't hear any rattles when the car is brand new, the noises may appear later after a year or two.

Sorry @CommodoreAmiga , apparently you got a bad one. Obviously what you say in unfounded and incorrect, as there are thousands of RX owners on the forum, and just a handful of people mentioning rattles. I wonder if you are just hearing things that are not there? Hard to come up with an equally unfounded statement as yours but I gave it a shot.

It's all good and interesting to read different folks' take on things. What I do agree with you is on the ML which I have but truth is it's not what it's hyped up to be. There is for sure better sounding setups out there. But that's just my opinion and no doubt others may disagree. But car audio will never sound like a high end home audio.
