Does the 5RX have the same theft issue as 4RX?
I went above and beyond by installing a Compustar immobilizer (fob style), a Starline i96 immobilizer (PIN style), and TAG tracking device on my RX.
I would recommend to get Starline instead of IGLA as it has more security features, come with free fob (if you want to use fob instead of PIN) and app.

Where are you getting it installed?
Lockdown Security, they're the only Canadian distributer. Wife is always paranoid the RX won’t be where we parked it. I can’t blame her, it was stolen twice while we were out and about. We’ve always kept it locked up in the garage, it’s a sense of security and piece of mind.

I went to Lockdown as well. I would strongly recommend installing TAG as well. They laser engrave a small TAG logo on the two sides front windows which also act as deterrent before they break open your bumper and headlights. Thieves don’t know you have devices like starline until they break your bumper and etc. and your car would already suffer damage by then.
It was a 2022 RX Executive, always kept in garage. Stolen visiting friends and family, I currently have the 2024 Hybrid.
The 23/24 RX are not vulnerable to CAN BUS. I’m not as worried now about broken bumper, and trim after failed CAN BUS attempts on 2023 models. Thief's are progressive.
I recover the 22 RX the first time with apple’s tag, the interior damage caused to break the GPS board cost the insurance company $10,000. Even as an extra layer of protection, cars with TAG logo’s still get stolen. The depreciation of a recovered RX will not sit well with any owner. This will be my last Lexus if stolen.

Watched this story on 2 different networks last night. Very disappointed to see the Gen 5 RX in there. Of the 6 vehicles, 5 were Lexus. More vehicles were recovered, I thought I heard 20 or 25 and I don't know what those cars were. But they showcased these.
Also yesterday I read a review of the new Hyundai Tuscon/Santa Cruz. There was a single line of great interest in there; they are the first manufacturer that I know of that have integrated a fingerprint scanner into their cars, with these 2 models being first. So if a lower tier brand can do it, why can't Lexus/Toyota? There is so much tech in these cars, it should be a no brainer to integrate that or the guts of the Igla/Autowatch tech right from the factory.
As stated before, by myself and others, if my NX is stolen, I'm not replacing it with a Lexus.
Lexus Canada; you seeing this??

There was a glitch with my IGLA system where it turns off completely and these guys replaced the entire system with a brand new one - then a year later it happened again. These guys figured out that it was a glitch only on Lexus/Toyota vehicles which was when you remove it from service mode. I didn’t even tell them this information but they asked me did you put in service mode and I was like yea I just took it from the dealership and want to re-arm my RX. Apparently it happened only with Lexus/Toyota vehicles and fixed temporarily by telling me to turn off the battery and reconnect the negative - which did indeed turn on the IGLA system once again. But for a permanent fix they called me in the shop and updated the software since it was a known issue and added a secondary wire to send signals.
Since then no problems whatsoever! I can’t stress this product enough! If you really care about your car I would recommend you to just install it to protect yourself/family.
I hear bizarre scenarios where some people are at a gas pump with their family - whilst father is pumping gas with his wife and kids in the car someone tries to steal it. Thief wouldn’t know the pin and your family is safe from being kidnapped in-front of your eyes.
Just food for thought - prevention is better than cure! Stay safe and God bless!
So here's a question for my Canadian friends, as this seems to be overwhelmingly a Canadian issue. I live 40 miles from the border, and local cops just announced that they are seeing a number of Vermont cars (with Vermont plates) returning from visits to Montreal with little Apple tracking devices on them. They gave no details, so it's hard to figure what this is about. Will thieves come down to Vermont to steal cars?(seems dubious)...are the devices only found on upscale cars? The whole story begs more questions than it answers..any ideas from The Frozen North?

Depends on your justice system. In Ontario they steal the cars, even if they are caught they take them in for few hours then release them to go back to work. Most thieves are repeat offenders, but there are no consequences.
US system might be different which might deter the thieves from attempting.
I don't care to win you over with facts in the automotive world, but perhaps you should open your eyes a little to the issues around vehicle theft.
