What year Passat? My '99 B5 had 180K when I sold it. I had a manual, chipped (160K chipped), and lowered. Loved driving that car. I'd honestly buy a new one if I could. I'm even still a mod over at PassatWorld.

The EA888 has definitely has had some water pump issues which seem to be sorted out finally. Chains instead of belts on them these days but early ones had some tensioner issues.

If you really want the Gas 2.4 Turbo (RX 350) then you will get more data out of NX Gen2 forum + Gen 1 since NX has had Turbos since 2015.

If you want to avoid the turbo and don't mind a bit less power, then RX 350h is naturally aspirated Hybrid, which is decent. All reviews are good. So is the price and the required regular Gas vs. premium.

In terms of Toyota AWD on non hybrids, I speak on last gen RX which was excellent in snow and ice covered roads in Ontario.
