For Lexus NOT to update the 2019 seems off track, it's due by time, and the vehicle is getting very stale technologically compared to any of it's competition. Probably in last place. It seems even if orders are taken, could they be updating say tail lights, grill, changing track pad, maybe CarPlay and it be standard? This wouldn't impact orders. And dealers to my knowledge have not been given ANY info. It still shows 2018 RX online which hint's SOMETHING must be different. My dealer said that they can see vehicles set to come to them in late October at earliest, and price only $100 more , with no change on options, but no information on changes to standard equipment. Has Lexus ever dropped changes mid-year? Thoughts?

Sad indeed, I was hoping for the facelift since we are in the market for an RX in a few months. My dealer just told me the same, no changes---gotta hate Toyota. As I have said many times, if it weren't for the better reliability to the competition(RX only strength) I would have the lady get a new Q5. Unfortunately, we plan to own the car beyond warranty and therefore cannot afford the risk.

Looks like Alexa being added is the only change they mentioned in article. Lexus hasn't announced this, and not showing anything on their sites or to dealers about the 2019 RX, while other vehicles are released. Why would the be holding back on just showing the 19's if you can order them at dealer, and there's no changes? Speculative question. Historically, does Lexus hold on releasing information when there is 'none'?

Not many models receive a major refresh after only three model years.

I guess the definition of refresh is in question then. The NX still looks the same so while some things may have changed, it's not the next gen model yet.

Very true, but this would be a first they didn't do a 'mid cycle refresh' going into the 4th year of production. Also reading the tarot cards, not sure why if NO changes, they just don't roll it out on their webpage to build as a 19, the cars are already allotted for dealer.

Is it 100% certain that they're not doing the changes? How would this be known? I have seen prices are $100 more on their press release. No changes to options. But new facia, lights, or even CarPlay if standard wouldn't show up, right? Part of the uniqueness is that the 'L' version came out, and the 2018 didn't hit dealer lots until late January last year. Lexus is selling a lot of the RX, I'm sure someone in an office is thinking 'we don't even have to try'. Personally, I think they're 3-4 years behind the curve of tech for even themselves.

Pretty much all of the Lexus cars, refreshed or not, are still showing as 2018s on the web site. They generally don't seem to switch them over until they start showing up on lots, and we're still some weeks off from that.

In the past, I haven't seen publications like Car and Driver and Motor Trend making these statements without confirming them. I would believe it at this point. I highly suspect they used their RX resources to produce the "L" version and are now behind on the mid cycle refresh, which I'll guess is going to be for model year 2020.

Probably depends on the market. My Tundra only had a very minor grill and tail light change from 2007-2013. That tells me people were not interested in looks as they were in reliability.The HL/RX is due for an update soon and resources are most likely going towards that effort. Lastly, if Lexus thought they needed a refresh to stay competitive they'd most likely would commit to it.
