OEM Michelin, OEM Bridgestone Vs Other (merged threads)

From what I understand ~40,000 km is pretty typical of the Ecopia. I just took off my Blizzaks and replaced the Ecopia's last week.
I considered going 255/50/20 (same diameter as the 235/55/20, but wider). I was hoping for better handling, without excessive noise. In the end I went with 235/55/20 (stock size) and had a tough time buying tires. Choices as follows:
- Michelin Premier LTX - awesome tires, pooor tread life as it starts with a very short tread depth.
- Bridgestone Ecopie HL/422 0 make sure you get the H speed rated as they have a 100,000 km tread life warranty. The stock V speed rated have no tread warranty.
- Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S Plus - 105,000 km treadwear warranty, well reviewed on tire rack. Note the tread width is 1" wider then the Bridgestone.
I bought the Pirelli's. Seem to grip better and slightly firmer then the Blizzak's. Only had them on 2 days.
I also looked at Cooper and a few others.

Owner's Manual sez: Do not mix tires of different makes, models or tread patterns. Also, do not mix tires of remarkably different treadwear.

Costco tires and lexus tires are showing 100000km tread life warranty for the Premier LTX, and that is the only tire availble on costco's website.
Ecopia doesn't come with any tread life warranty.
I can't even Pirelli anywhere on Kaltire, Costco or Lexus Tires.
I am leaning towards the LTX as i haven't heard any of the other tires.

Just upgraded 2 days ago from the OEM tires and up sized to 255/50/20. I got the Michelin Defender LTX tires based on the overall performance plus treadwear rating. As others have said, handling is better with less flex since they are wider. Also, overall they look better since it is a bit "beefier".

Pole Position
I just bought four Michelins at Costco and will have them installed on Monday. They are a new model the Primacy Tour A/S. Tire Rack has them as to new to rate but 9 reviews from purchasers and are all positive. Researching they are suppose to be an improvement over the Premier LTX. Through May 4, Costco has an instant rebate of $70 and $.04 for installing all four tire. They come with a typical 55,000 mile warranty.

I had the Michelin LTX defender 255/50R20 on a 2014 Ford Explorer and they were great spring/summer/fall tires. Those were the OEM size for that car, the original Hankooks started to hydroplane and Michelins had much better grip with slightly more noise. We also live on a gravel road, so the Ford dealer recommended them over the Premier line.
A year ago I bought a used 2016 RX350 which was totaled in an accident (not my fault) and I bought another RX350, this time a F-Sport 3. It had 41,600 KM on and a the Lexus Dealer changed the fronts as part of the CPO process and put new Bridgestones on it. I drove it home in January and put brand new Blizzaks on it. Huge difference on icy and snowy roads. Going to drive on the Bridgestones this summer and get some real tires on it.
BFGoodrich (Owned by Michellin) now makes an ADVANTAGE T/A SPORT LT in the OEM tiresize that gets really good reviews and starts with similar thread depth.

Anyone know the actual difference in tire diameter with the Defenders at 250/50 over the stock 235/55? Does it make a difference with all the computer stuff that uses tire diameter (whatever that is)?

Is BFGoodrich advantage ta sport Lt all season tires or snow tires? I saw a snow flake label on the website for some reason.

It's all season. "The Advantage T/A Sport LT meets the industry's severe snow service requirements and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol." Even so, traction is a B rating. What gives?

They are 200 cheaper than pirelli verde and premier ltx.
Are you happy with your Goodrich? I would give it a try if there is not much difference between the advantage and premier ltx
Also, did you keep the same size for the new tires or did you opt for the wider one? 255/55/R20 as some others had

At 60 MPH they differ by only 0.4 MPH. The circumference differs by only 0.7%. No problem at all. In fact, the exact same difference as the stock 18" vs 20" size on the RX.

Funny that you had Bridgestone, in Quebec we get Michelin Premier LTX and I'm very happy with them! Very quiet, I just removed my Blizzak and wow, the return of quiet on the road!

I put Defenders on my 2010 RAV4 V6 and have about 55k happy, problem free miles on them. I'll probably replace them this fall as they've started to crack around the sidewalls, a common thing with Michelins as the tread tends to outlive the sidewalls!
