Just tried it on my RX - open door, lock using the inside switch, close door. Doors remain locked, and the LED indicator is solid, indicating the alarm is armed. Only difference is that there is no audible beep and the turn signals don't flash, unlike when you use the fob or door handle (and the double tapping on the trunk close).

Wonder if this is Lexus's method to have a quiet alarm so as not to disturb sleeping neighbours etc.

Default Does the RX have an auto-lock feature?

Just purchased a 2019 F Sport AWD.

I've had GM SUV's my whole life so I'm new to anything Lexus.
Does the RX have an auto-lock feature? Say I get out of the truck and go into the house. Can I set it to auto-lock without pushing the lock button?
Is there a way to stop the truck from turning off when I start it from the app then touch the handle to get inside?
How do I send directions from the app to the truck?

I'm not aware of an auto-lock feature. If there was, you'd better be very careful with it. You can lock it by just touching the rear portion of the door handle. I don't have remote start, so can't help with that.
Otherwise congrats on your new car and many happy miles!

No it doesn't have an auto lock feature. Just touch the dimple on the door handle.

No there isn't. It's considered a safety/security feature.

Use the Lexus Enform App Suite. NOT the 2.0 version. Look up an address or POI and save it. In your RX, go to Menu>Apps>Saved Destinations>Sync. It will pull over whatever you've saved in the app.

Default Is There A Way To Program Autolock?

Is there a way to program my 2020RX so that the doors lock automatically after 30 seconds (or whatever) after exiting the car and taking the key with me? It would be nice to never have to think about locking the car.

Nope. You can lock it from the button on the door armrest, from the little detent on the door handle or using the fob. I am in the habit with my Tundra pickup of hitting the button on the arm when exiting the vehicle, but this method does not retract the side mirrors. Only the fob and outside door handle will do that (as long as mirrors are set to auto). Also, the Lock button on the tailgate will close the gate and lock the doors (and retract mirrors).

Question RX - lock when I walk away

Hello, does anyone know if the RX can automatically lock when I walk away from it (and the key is not inside of it)? Sometimes I forget to lock it and want to either use Lexus Enform or the settings on the vehicle to have it lock after a set amount of time sitting unlocked if that is possible.

Thank you,
Gina

No. Inside door lock button, dimple on the outside of the door handle, fob button, Enform app -- that's it. It is designed so that locking must be a deliberate decision, for safety reasons.

As others have said, this is not possible. As a workaround you can have the Enform app notify you after a few minutes if the vehicle is unlocked, or if you left the moonroof open. Of course, both the vehicle and you need cell coverage. Annoyingly, the notification is generic; you have to open the app to see the detail.

Here's another thought, @ginab, if you happen to be an Alexa user. There is an Alexa skill for the Lexus Enform app, and it includes interrogating door lock status and the ability to lock/unlock doors. You might even be able to get a tool like IFTT (If This Then That, if you are not familiar with it) to intercept a notification from Enform and then trigger Alexa to lock the doors.

Default 2022 RX350 Auto Lock Option

Is there a way to set the door locks so they automatically lock after exiting and closing the doors? In the settings there are several options (off, 30 seconds, 69 seconds, etc. ). I am not quite clear on this feature. We just purchased this car new three weeks ago and still trying to figure some things out. Many thanks.

Hi TWine and welcome. The easiest way to lock all the doors after exiting is to just touch the depression on the front of the door handle on any door. All the doors will then lock. If you used the rear hatch just press the button to the right of the button used to close the hatch (it has a picture of a lock on it). This way the hatch will close and all the doors will lock.

IIRC, my 2017 RX came with a 500ish page owners manual. I've read novels shorter than that!
