Where in the world are these prices coming from? Average price in Omaha for RX350 is $42k??? Perhaps I should got to Nebraska for my next Lexus. Not long after that post, one was talking about a $65k car! What the ????
My 2015 RX MSRP was right at $50k. It had a good set of extras, but not everything. I can't imagine buying a "stripped down" Lexus!
I'm leasing my RX, and have about another 18 months on the lease. If they don't do anything with that butt-ugly grill, I'll be looking at alternatives. We love the Lexus quality and ride, and had a 2012 RX prior to the 2015. But I can see my neighbors throwing eggs at that 2016 and up RX!
Any other reasonable alternatives I should be looking at, other than the much-discussed Audi??

Hands down... BMW X5. With the Mocha Nappa Leather package, that was the nicest vehicle I've ever owned. However, my mistake was "owning" vs. leasing. BMW heavily subsidizes their lease terms making leasing very attractive. Plus, it's not wise to own a B'mer outside of warranty. That being said, the most fun, most luxurious vehicle i've driven.

I paid $50k out the door for my RX350. And I thought it was a OK deal

2. Start looking for another brand, best selling luxury SUV will not change butt-ugly grill. It is best selling for a reason.
3. With average price of 42K means that MSRP is 49K not that huge of a stretch.

Scroll down to "Market Average" on the graph on top third of page. For some reason Market Average today is $44,181.
Closer competitors would be the MDX, GLE, and X5. I looked at these and RR Sport. In my past RX I cross shopped the Q5 but found it too small.

X5 was a close second but major weaknesses include:
- Reliability
- No hybrid
- Weaker sound system (Harmon Kardon 600W vs. ML 835W)
- Dakota leather is horrible, so Nappa is a must have
- 20" rims cost extra
- No lane keep assist
- 10" display screen is smaller
- No self opening trunk
- No adaptive suspension

Pole Position
I cross shopped a fairly loaded 2016 X5 with Mocha Nappa Leather but it came out to be $7,100 more than my fully loaded RX450h.

So then my question to you all,
RX 350 or Porsche Macan?
I was so surprised to see 2017 Porsche was equal to Lexus. However, I looked through 2016,2015...2012 JD power and porsche goes up and down when Lexus was always number one.

I thought about the Macan but imagine the cost to maintain will be insane in a few years.

The Porsche Macan is way too small. It's more NX size than RX size; it even felt smaller than the NX. Friend had a Macan S. It handled beautifully for an SUV, but maintenance was really expensive ($400 for 10K miles service & $800 for 20K miles service).
