I wish I knew what version I had and what was installed. Starting to think they used multiple
versions throughout the 2016/17 build.
Even after the TSB it still lugs when going from 4th to 5th gear.
I just shift manually, its the only way I can tolerate the tranmission.
I don't know if mine now lugs between 4/5, it might, but that's cause it still downshifts a bit early, but there is a huge difference when starting and needing to accelerate when needed, such as going around a corner. If you don't have any really noticeable delay, then you probably have a good version. It was really bad. Had to drive in eco mode cause it was driving me nuts.

I had my TSB done two weeks ago. I think it improved a little bit, but on low speed, 40-50 mph I think the transmission hesitates. Before I had the TSB done I was using premium fuel because it felt like it was helping with the hesitation. After the TSB I switched to mid grade because the transmission seemed better but after a few days it started to hesitate so I went back to premium today I will post update.

How is the gas mileage with premium? This is the first car that I've never gotten close to the rated highway mileage. I usually exceed it.

Between mid grade and premium, it's about the same, 21-22 mpg. I drive 80% highway, 20 miles one way for my work commute. Definitely performance is better with premium with this disappointing transmission.

As far as I remember the software version that I had ends in 200 while the new one for the F-Sport ends in 300. now to give you guys a little bit of history. I got my car 2006 RX350 F-Sport Dec 26, 2016, and since day one I used Petro-Canada premium 94. So I had very little problem with the car to start with. Now in anticipation of this TSB I switched to regular 87 three thanks ago and that's when I started noticing the problems more and more. currently I have 4000 KM on the car. So far I have driven 50 plus KM since I got the TSB applied and I can say it is a big difference (Thanks to FastFord for giving me the Dealer contact). The car is a lot more responsive in terms of acceleration in corners and slight uphills it actually holds the RPM's at around 2000~2500 and pulls. While before the TSB it will go through the gears very quickly and then down shift so I had to baby the gas peddle to minimize the effect of that and smooth the ride.

I have 2016 Highlander limited with the 6-speed (11,0000 KM) and I can say now the RX is almost as smooth in terms of shifting and drone noise not as good but close. I also have a 2015 NX 200t F-Sport (35,000) which I find a lot smoother to drive than my 2016 RX350 very odd!!!

In a nut shell at this point for me I think the TSB did improve how my car behaves. It is sad to hear that it did not work for others. I will report later on as well.

Side note:
if anybody in Canada is interested in running boards they will be available through the dealer ETA end of April PN:

This has been my number regret since trading in the NX. Hopefully this TSB will resolve it.

I am planning to have this TSB applied on my car. From the TSB VIN range it looks like it applies to all 2016 RX 350s, right? Does someone know exactly what the dealer needs to do to correctly apply this TSB? Hard system reset or something? Also, is there any way to make sure the memory settings or aleast the nav settings/addresses/history don't get wiped out? Thank you.

And did the fix work for you? Also, how do I make sure the dealership applies it correctly?

The fix worked for me the second time. You will know if they don't do it right because it will be worse than before the fix.

Mine was the first to be done in Canada, supposedly, and the instructions for the USA TSB were incomplete. Dealer didn't know they had to do something and it didn't work. The tranny didn't want to shift and revved very high before shifting...under light acceleration.

Took it back, re-installed, works fantastic now. Like a new and different car.
I didn't lose any programming, but I did check them out to make sure. Radio, rear tailgate, driver settings, etc.

Yes, I meant fix - it was a typo.

Cool, so do you or anyone else here know what they need to do to apply it correctly the first time?

Hi,

The Tech must do a system reset. (disconnect the battery negative terminal for about 10 min).
