i use power in my custom driving mode with my mostly city driving and the mpg is abysmal at about 13mpg city, anyone else getting these horrible numbers?
If you are only getting 13mpg, you need to look at your heavy foot. Anticipate stops so you can coast to a stop rather than throwing on the brakes. you could do better if you "wanted" to do so.

I have been impressed with the computer MPG calculator on the RX350. Most of the time it's within a few 1/10th's of the actual (calculated) MPG. Last weekend I drove from Denver to the Eisenhower tunnel (very little traffic); 70 miles with an elevation increase of 6000 ft. I got a respectable 21.0 MPG. On my way back down, I zeroed the calculator and wound up 'getting' 57.3 MPG going down hill! I know this can't be correct, but there are sections you can drive for 10+ miles w/o touching the gas pedal.

I have done the same thing coasting downhills and getting unbelievable mileage....kind of funny how it calculates mpg under those conditions.

Well you might as well use the sport mode because it's more fun. I found that fuel economy is 1 mpg better in sport mode.
Highway driving 100km/hr +/-15km I get the rated 8.9l/100km.
Mixed seems to be about 11l/100km. Not great considering it's summer and the driving is not aggressive, but close to he rated efficiency of 10.7 l/100km.
Anyone know the definition "City Driving"?? Certainly driving in San Francisco is different than driving in the suburbs yet both are off the "Highway".
And how does Lexus compute city driving?? Could they be driving in Chicago or NYC and get 19 or 20 mpg??
I always imagined the highway test in the US to be cruising at 50 mph in the desert with no wind at a temp of 100 degrees.
The highway test in this Canadian study is top speed 60 mph, maybe they only hit that for a split second, with an average speed of 48.5 mph. Here in CA that is unrealistic to say the least. The city test is a bit more complicated, average speed, stops, idling, etc. and how all this effects mpg.

Drove 500 miles yesterday with 5 adults in my RX, and stopped once. Before stop, I got 28 mpg. Overall, I got 27 mpg. Can't complain.

I used gauge. But since I added some gas in that stop, I calculated based on those numbers. It was actually 28.15 mpg.
It was pouring yesterday. So for fairly long time, I was driving well below 70 mph. And since it was my new RX' first road trip, I tried to drive on speed limit. But for the second leg of my trip, people was very aggressive. I did not feel safe to drive on speed limit (too slow). So I did drive faster, sometime 85 or more, to follow the traffic. I guess that's why my gas mileage dropped.
Now we know the gauge is pretty accurate. Today, I topped gas (grade 87 cheap gas) from Kroger and drove from Columbus to Dayton. Once the road condition was clear, I set cruise control to 70 mph. Half way to here, I noticed the new record.

Yes, I was using my cellphone to take pictures while driving. But with active cruise control and lane keeping, it was not that bad.
I think it reached 31.2 mpg or even higher. But I did not take picture since too many cars were around me and I turned off the ACC.
When we arrived, the mpg was "lowered" due to some local driving and some long red lights. Again, there were 5 adults and about 200 lbs luggage in the RX. My RX is a normal FWD, 2017 model with 2xxx miles on it.
In my last trip from Virginia Beach to Philly, I also got a mileage of over 31 (as per dash). Do note that the most of the driving was on US-13 & 113 where the speed limit is around 50 most of the way.
AWD, RX 350 with 3000 miles.
