Folks...I purchased a new 2021 rx 350 (my 3rd rx 350 over the years)...
In the last few months I have noticed that when I start the car that the odometer reading shows a number that is about what Km would be but the display showed 'MILES'.
When I put it in gear the number 'recalculated' to miles and everything was fine. I never bothered my dealer...
Last week when I started the car the display did not 'recalculate' into miles..the number stayed at Km's but continued to display 'MILES' after the number.
Now the 'Maintenance' message appears. I'm waiting for my dealership tech group to respond to my email...

When you open the drivers door what is the miles that show on the screen? The mileage will show example 4500.7. Its easy to look at it and think it looks like 45007 miles.
You could go into the info screen and change it into KM then back to miles and see if anything changes.

 

Along with possibly switching between the trip computer and total miles, are you sure it's not flashing the miles to go until your next service? I know when I first start the car it shows the miles to go to maintenance, and then after a moment switched to the total miles or trip computer miles (depending on which I have it set at by pressing the ODO button).

 

When you start the car the odometer screen will display your remaining distance to next scheduled service and then after few seconds it switches to either Trip or Odometer that you had before.

 

oh dear, I have screwed up. You folks are correct...I was seeing the 'Maintenance' mileage when I get in the car...then it did switch to actual miles.
So sorry to have bothered everyone...thanks for your replies.
