I just got an email from AT&T regarding my car’s wireless number (which I didn’t even know I had) and a message:
“We hope you enjoyed your complimentary 4GB Trial for 3 Mo vehicle Wi-Fi data plan. We wanted to let you know that your AT&T trial data plan will end 09/10/2021”
Okay, what happens if I don’t buy more data? Do I lose the ability to use the app (for example, to start the car remotely)? Do I lose the Enform feature?
No, nothing will happen.
You will be able to use all of those functions without issues as long as you are signed up for them. The data plan is ONLY for Hotspot inside your car.
Car comes with 3 month or 3 or 4gb of data as a trial.
I use it a lot as I have my dash cam always connected to the hotspot. my son connects his iPad and keeps himself entertained during long drives.

All of them have a data plan. That’s what you pay $24/mo for remote services. HOWEVER, 2016 & 2017 RX350s have a 3G service only that’s why Lexus discontinues any remote services and the apps in October 2022. Notice to that effect was sent out a year ago. I don’t know what AT&T is talking about but it is worth investigating. There is a long thread to that effect.
