I recently purchased a 2021 RX 350. This is my second RX and absolutely love the vehicle. I noticed the maps embedded into the navigation seem less detailed than the older Lexus which is a 2018. I was wondering if there are different map choices similar to what Google maps has as I like to keep this up while driving and now using CarPlay. I’m curious if there’s a setting that I am missing.

 

I believe they update the maps in nearly every model year. Our 19ES is different than our 17 RX which is different than 2020 loaners Ive had.

 

Thanks. Looks very basic now. I guess it forces me to use car play.

I thought the default color scheme on the map was too dreary.

You can customize the map colors:

MENU > Setup > Navigation > Detailed Navi. Settings > Map Color Customization
