Smile folding mirror speed - driver side slower

Never noticed this till yesterday, but my driver side mirror folds and extends slower than the passenger side. Has anybody else noticed this on their car?

It's not really a big deal, but figure I'll check if this is typical or a sign of things to come. I'm sure if I bring it to the dealer they'll just laugh at me or tell me it's "within spec."

For a company that used to use the tag line "The relentless pursuit of perfection" - this is hardly perfection

I think every Lexus does this. My mom had a 2015 GS had it did this. Our 13 RX, 19 NX does this as well. We now have a 21 ES where the mirrors folds vertically and the passenger side goes up quicker than the driver side too. I believe it something about the angle the passenger mirror sits. Even though they seem symmetrical, I believe the passenger side folds quicker because it doesn't fold in as far as the driver side.

I could be wrong but I think on another thread this was mentioned before. So it's normal.

My 2019 is the same. One slower. It really bothered me in the beginning and now I don't notice.

Same here. Had a 3RX that also did the same thing, although the passenger side mirror was considerably slower than the driver side when folding inward.
