Quote: Ahhh -- correction, I do NOT have that kind of gap, I looked at the space UNDER the silver piece. Sorry.

Wow, that does look like a bad fit. And replacing the silver piece won't fix the uneven surface above the edge of it. Something is wrong with the mating surface on the dash -- it may or not be repairable by the dealer. If the dealer can't offer more than replacing the part that doesn't appear to have a problem, I'd be tempted to send that photo to the Lexus corporate people and ask for repair or replacement under warranty.
that’s good, don’t know why my one have it

I had it. The dealer took the dash apart and put some in some "black insulation" so you could not see it anymore. Looks fine now.

On the day I took it in a DSM was present. He said he'd seen it before. We inspected several RX's from different years. Some had it and some did not.

It does not rattle after the repair.

I went to dealership, they said they will order new part for me , but I’m not sure if I want to replace the new trim or not since it’s a new car. Also, I worry about after they remove the trim will create rattles.
Should I replace it ? What you guys think?

I think that looks awful and I would get it replaced. I also think Toyota of N.A. would be pretty embarrassed about it.

Visible glue and moving panel
Hi All,

I recently got a 2019 LexusRX350 CPO with 19.5K Miles on it.
This weekend, I observed visible glue above glove box and the panel seems to be moving.

Is this normal or should be fixed under warranty?

Had to use a bright flashlight to see it, but our 2018 has a VERY slight gap too. If I hadn't opened this thread, I would never have noticed it, as it can't be seen without the flashlight.

Turned in to the dealer. They will either replace it or reinstall it.

Go to Michael's and buy a black felt. Tuck it in and forget about it))
