Will replacing the OEM dash mirror effect the Lexus Safety System
Hello Forum - this is my first post, I'm looking for some help here.
I'm interested in replacing the OEM dash mirror with the modern aftermarket smart mirrors that have dash cams and have the ability to display front and back views while driving. The main reason is for the dashcam recording in case of an accident or hit and runs. In this case, the aftermarket dash mirror will fully replace the OEM instead of an attachment. I'm afraid if I disconnect the factory mirror, it might disable some of the safety features.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I would really appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance!

The Lexus Safety System uses the forward facing camera in the mirror base and
the millimeter radar mounted behind the Lexus Arrowhead Badge on the grille.
Take (great) care not to disturb the windshield mounted camera or its wiring and
you ought to be OK.
You will be removing the three (3) button Home Link garage door openers and the
sensors for the three (3) Auto-dimming rear view mirrors (the two outside mirrors
dim when the inside mirror mounted sensors trigger them). Only the Non-Navigation
level RX's have a compass in the mirror so ought to be OK there.
