Uncomfortable Seats
Sorry if this has already been covered but I just bought a used RX with 30k kilometers.
I love the car but (for me) the front seats are uncomfortabe after only a couple of hours. There appears to be little cushioning in the back panel of the seat (where most of my weight is).
My other vehicle is a 2009 Volvo and I sold a 2011 Infiniti to buy the RX. Both of those vehicles have substantially more comfortable seats. In all the reviews and videos I watched before purchasing the RX I never heard anyone mention the seat comfort.
Does anyone else have this issue? Or have a solution? Or is it just me?
TIA

While at my local Lexus Dealer today I had the opportunity to sit in a new 2022 RX350 F Sport. The drivers seat fit me very snug. I am 5'7" and 185 pounds. I can see anyone larger than me being squeezed to the point of being uncomfortable. I also sat in a 2022 LS500. I guess it was the Ultra Luxury version as it had the reclining rear seats. The drivers seat was the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in, I did not want to get out.

I tried a bunch of cushions in my RX-450. Finally found a Cushion lab cushion that covers most of the seat and is good even with 10 hours of driving:

After years of ownership, I’ve come to realize the RX seats are just not for me. We have the Base RX, but seats are still thin and uncomfortable over a longer hour plus drive.
we used to have a GX. Loved the seats. Had a GS with lux package. Best seats ever. Just rode in my friend’s GX with base package and realized just how much more comfortable those seats are, even without any upgrades.
the lesson here, for me at least. Test drive the car for an hour plus before making a purchase. There’s really no other way to know. I never learned that lesson with my Mazda either. The seats were amazing…for about 10 minutes. Every long trip ended in pain with that one too.
Like shoes, seats are personal. My wife likes the RX seats just fine. Only way to tell is to go for a longer test drive and pay full attention.

We just bought an RX350--I've been driving it for less than a week and have severe lower back pain. I'm not heavy set, exercise regularly and have a strong back and core. Did not have back pain prior to driving my new Lexus. This is my first Lexus and the only car that has ever given me back pain. I know it's the car because that's the only thing that's different in my daily routine. I'm going to try the towel idea, but makes me wonder why I bought the lexus if I was going to use a "seat cushion"--may as well have bought the BMW X3 with the stiff seats (because that's the only reason I opted for the RX350 over the BMW--cushy seats!). My Mom has been driving a Lexus for over 20 years and has had ongoing, severe back pain--I'm now wondering if her Lexus is contributing to it!
I just got the car and now cannot wait until the lease is up
Hoping Lexus looks into the issue with the seats.

New to me 2021 RX350 - the driver Seat does not have enough legroom for me, so I can sympathize. I love the car otherwise. I’ve ordered a seat extender which I hope will work less to extend the seat and more to sit under my knees raising so I have an extra couple inches to the gas pedal.

I have an appointment with the service department tomorrow. I'll see what they say
I just bought a 2022 RX350 and my back/hip pain is severe. I took the car on a road trip. The first day I couldn't get comfortable in the seat. The second day I had hip and back pain. The 3rd day it turned into sciatica down my left leg. You're definitely not alone.

I've aggravated my sciatica and I know exactly how you feel.

I realize this post is a few years old but o have owned 04 GX470, 2007 and 2013ES350, 2011 GX460 and now 2016 RX350 base and the seats in my RX350 are the LEAST comfortable IMO. They are supportive but lack the cushion in the seat bottoms. I have thought of having it stuffed but with the perforated leather and cooled seats not sure that’s possible. Thoughts?
