Thumbs down 2020 RX is BORING

Test drove the 2020 RX 350 today. I wanted so badly to love the car to purchase. After months of careful research waiting for this refresh I was disappointed and have come up with a final conclusion. The car is boring. What Lexus did with this refresh is put lipstick on a pig. Yes, the touch screen is closer to the driver. Yes the mouse pad has been replaced by the touchpad. Yes the screen is touchscreen. Yes, Android and Apple Car Play are in the car, but these are all things that should have been re vamped years ago to be better and they're still not competing with Audi, BMW, Volvo. Period. Lexus claims they made the suspension stiffer to not lean or roll as much while taking corners. I didn't notice that at all. If anything I said to the salesman how much the car DID in fact lean or roll when we took turns. Its border line like driving a boat. Yes, the fit and finish are typical Lexus nice luxury. Neat, crisp, clean. Seats are comfy. Its smooth. There is no driving feedback whatsoever to the road however. I felt the car was just big and not appropriate. Its old and its tired. The view of the hood while driving, the lines. Not for me. The engine. Yes, a 6 cylinder is nice but it needs to be turbo charged in todays car competitions. Its slow. Its not quick out of the gate. Its loud but not crisp. It did nothing for me. The AWD system, I question it. The salesman knew very little about it. Mentioned watching youtube on the Highlander to get more info. Joke.

What lexus seriously needs to do is completely re design and retire this current model. No question about it. A complete re design to compete against other cars. After my test drive and hard sell which finally I walked out of, I drove to Audi and loved the Q5. Loved it. I then finished my day going to BMW and Volvo. The X3, loved it. Volvo XC 60, liked it, didn't love it, but liked it a lot more than the Lexus. Finally when I got home, voice message from Lexus dealer asking if we could make a deal. Complete clown show. No thanks. Good luck Lexus with this car. Im sure you'll still sell lots of 2020 RX's but after an exhaustive day, I'm done with Lexus. Thanks.

Wow I guess a lot of people side with me that it is not boring since it is the #1 selling luxury SUV. It is a SUV and I could care less that it is not quick out of the gate. I will take eight years number one in reliability any day. Cost me $400 every three years to maintain. IMO least boxey looking SUV. Love the lines.
