Turn off door sill?

Can the illuminated door sill lights, be turned off on the RX350.

Yes, but it's connected with the interior light, by the rearview mirror, so if you turn that light of it will also turn the sill off.
Why would you want to do this, the lighted sill adds a bit of luxury cachet to the vehicle.

And other owners will pay hundreds of dollars (on eBay & elsewhere) to get those illuminated door sills. Strange world.
