That was actually my point and not that I'm being cheap. Like I said. The CF10285 filter is actually the size of the filter the 2016+RX uses except the pleats of the filter are flipped. Because of this, you can't use this filter which cost 15 bucks and easy to get but now have to buy one for twice the price and not so easy to find.

whoa whoa whoa. I put the 10285 filter side by side and on top of the current 2016 filter and the 10285 filter is too short compared to the rx filter in there.

When I get a chance. I'll pull the 10285 filter I purchased and compare it to the OEM filter. May not be till the weekend when I can do this. Will post pics when I get this comparison done.

See page 600 in the owners manual.

Remove the Cover, then pull the filter case.

There is a little clip that locks the cover into place. Unlock the filter cover on the right side...might need a flashlight if it's dark. Then swing the cover out on the right side swinging it out, then it pulls out on the left side, where there are little claw like hinges holding it on. Sounds more complicated than it is, but that's basically what to do....

Make sure the A/C is on the recirculating mode before pulling the filter out.

right side, you'll see an arm connected, when the door is open, that is the stop. carefully remove that from the door, and it will open down giving you access to the door behind it.
so open the glove box from the passenger side with the car door open, and you will see it.

open the glove compartment
empty out contents
squeeze both sides to release the 2 hinges that just attach to the sides
there is another small lever type device on the right that is holding the glove box
use some force and pull directly away from the glove box and it will release
then the glove box can be removed to replace the cabin air filter

May I ask why? I've replaced many cabin filters without being in recirc. Never had a problem.

Agree. I see no reason to have it running anyway.
