Sorry but do not see others here claiming it is a nuisance..
I think Lexus "baked" this into the system to dim the screen so it is not so bright and interfere with your night vision at night.
i agree.. i think its just me..
its not so much the dimming that annoys me.. its more so the inability to recognize the situation..
i feel like a short time delay (2 seconds??) should of been "baked" into the system. just so it doesnt keep switching back and forth so quickly..

I would agree with that and Lexus should do a delay like they do for the headlights when you go under a bridge.
Slightly off thread but I would like Lexus to include a timed delay for the back up camera.
As it is now, as soon as you shift out of reverse the camera shuts off. When completing
a 3 point turn it would be nice if the camera would remain on for 2 or 3 seconds even when
the car is in drive. Don't really need the Map or Media screen at that time!
Hint: Honda's offer the setting...

I would rather see the front camera or panoramic view when I shift into D. I believe it currently does this. Why do you need the rear camera when you're in D?
My thoughts involved the Backup camera not changing abruptly to the Map screen
every time I maneuver forward and back. During the brief time the car is edging ahead it would be
useful and safer to be able to add the camera view to the mirrors. Honda has a simple setting to
extend the time that the camera is on. Goes back to Map or Radio after a couple seconds of
forward travel. Not a biggie but would be simple for Lexus to add.

When the screen is showing the panoramic view there's an "Auto" option button, click that and when the car slows to under 5ish in drive the panoramic view appears. Hence 3 point turns reverse to drive will keep showing the parking screen.
I hate when I back out of my garage or parking garage at work (both are dark areas), the screen is in 'night' mode and makes it difficult to see the rear camera view. It's stupid there is a day/ night option when your car is in reverse. The screen should be in day mode only when you are in R, to give you the best view of what's behind you.
I just drove my mom's 2016 RX at night and noticed her navigation map is on day mode all the time even when at night. I don't see a day/night mode in the display settings. The instrument cluster brightness settings is adjusted midway. The headlights are on. Any thoughts?
Your only access to the Night Mode On/Off is at night or by covering the sensor on the dash.
Open up Display and Contrast and Brightness are always there, Day Mode appears if the sensor thinks it is dark.
Normal appearance at night is for the screen to be nearly black (Jiggs858 described how to adjust level),
Day Mode forces the bright white Map on even at night (also adjustable)

must be something wrong. At night the instrument dash dims and also the Navi screen, however the map does not turn black and remains white.
