Default ABS too sensitive?

Does anybody else find that the ABS engages too easily? With the recent snowfall, my ABS activated at least 3-4 times, and not while travelling too fast for the conditions.
The roads were a little slushy but no ice. My wife even thought that they activated much too quickly and easily.

If you are using the OEM Michelin or Bridgestone I would expect the ABS to engage in the weather we have been having lately.

The traction control light has blinked a few times but I have never had ABS kick in, even on a recent road trip to harrison hot springs driving on snow. Are you braking heavily?

At least you know you have a working ABS

I'm fully equipped for winter...Michelin X-Ice tires on 18-inch rims. I'm not braking too heavily at all when the ABS engages, and I'm sure that there wasn't any black ice on the road.

Straight line acceleration and cornering...the car has felt awesome. The traction control has not been blinking at all.

My only problem is that the stopping distance is a lot longer with the ABS going off, especially when I think it is engaging very early.
