Exclamation 2016/17 RX questions

Hi all, brand new to all of this, and am in the beginning stages of researching getting a 2016/17 RX. I saw one for the first time inside a mall today and fell in love, and have a fee questions...

First and foremost, I will be the primary driver as a daily commute car and for our drives to the coast or visiting family in Washington / Oregon. While I am not worried about the fit, my husband who is 6'9" is who I am a little worried about as the passenger and occasional driver. How is leg room and head room. I noticed when I got my Fusion 2 years ago there was plenty of head room in the car we drove but it disappeared when I got mine with the sun roof. I do plan on getting the panoramic sun roof with the RX.
I work as an ironworker, and drive alot. How comfortable is the car, honestly. I need something forgiving on my back and body on the way home after 10 or 12 hours.
I have seen the warranty on the website doesn't seem very time or mileage friendly. I will poke around on the thread here, but with as much as I drive I will burn that up quick. Are you happy with the factory / extended or not warranty that comes with the car? Any downsides to this model? I'm actually looking at the hybrid for better mileage, first luxury car, first hybrid.. thank you

Default Happy, so far. Overall

Here is my experience:

Space: lots of head and leg room. Getting in and out is a bit tight, due to low roof at the door. Once inside, plenty of room.

Comfort: THE most comfortable car I've had. I drive at least 100 miles everyday and this car is as comfortable as it gets. Also had it on a road trip with 6 hours of drive without any stop and was extremely comfortable.

I have the F sport with F sport seats. I found them to be more comfortable for me, because of the added supports.

I can not say acting about warranty as Canadian dealers and Lexus in general treat customers different than their U.S.counterparts. Let's just say customer Service is not their forte. Vehicles are great though. Hopefully won't need to rely on them.

Thank you Toyotaman7. I was hoping to get a better idea on the room before we went to the dealership. My Fusion will be paid off next may, so I'll probably be ordering my RX in March. In the meantime I will get more information on the car, company, etc.

6'9" huh? I imagine he would have problems with many cars. I am a stumpy 6', and have no problem with head room. More of the concern which likely could impact him as well is that the center counsel extends up and angling towards the front. During driving, I have to adjust the seat back a bit as so my knee does not hit the center console trim, and I am one who typically sits farther back than most. It is perfectly positioned, where the edge hits my knee. The adjustments are good though, and I can move the seat down/farther back as to avoid it. I can say though in my prior vehicles, I have never experienced this. It seems the driver, and passenger lower compartment is a bit narrower than what I am used to, so it interferes with the knee. In that regard, the passenger compartment is a little better since you arent hitting the gas pedal, but it too is a pretty small area for those who might like a little foot space. Either way, you should get him down there with you and drive it for at least 10 miles or so to get a good feel of it. But, it does have more room than the Audi or Acura. At the same time, he has pretty much struggled through life ducking doors, hanging his foot over the bed and bending over in the shower, so tell him to suck it up here as so you can get a nice vehicle...

As for the warranty, I put on 80 miles a day, so I get the mileage up there. Extended warranties are a personal preference, and have proven to be an unnecessary cost when calculating typical repairs vs how much you spend on it. Additionally, this is a Toyota, to which I have owned 8 in my lifetime and only one had a major issue being a gasket for $1k at 110K on a 4Runner. Other than that, just typical maintenance. The difference obviously is a plethora of electronics and those batteries; that will need to be replaced at a HIGH expense if you keep the vehicle for any time. Obviously the details inclusive of how many miles helps with the decision, though I can tell you with mine, I avoided the extended warranty and won't think twice about it. Like they say in blackjack, never bet against yourself...

If he is 6'9 I WOULD NOT get one.

Surprisingly the coupes like the GS may be better since it puts him lower to the ground.

Or, get a FORD or try the ACURA. THey have much more head room.

I am 6'3 and I have just enough space. For your giant husband, he'll need something else.

Your husband needs to sit in the car with the seat adjusted. Two men of the exact same height can have entirely different seating experiences if one has more height in his legs and the other in his torso.
