F-sport seats, comfortable?
#211
Yesterday I traded in my 2021 F sport . The only reason was the seat side bolster was so hard and my right leg would go numb
Bought a 2024 ES350 ultra luxury and I must say the seat is very comfortable.for what its worth I got $45k for the RX trade in towards the ES. Will miss the large cargo space but my leg will be happy.
I test drove a 2023 RX350 Luxury and the seat was not much better then my F sport seat.IMO

I find the RX350 Fsport seats a little tight on my wide hips. So i bought a Purple Seat Cusion from Purplemattress.com they make a car specific seat cushion and that fits perfectly on my seat. This gives me a little over 3 inches of extra seat height to clear the seat bolstering so my hips do not touch it. Also this helps give my back support and makes my commute tier A status. The only car more comfortable than my 2020 RX350 Fposrt is my 2013 GS 350 Luxury seats.

F sport seats bottom bolster comfort issue
Hi Guys,
I just recently bought a lightly used 21 RX F-Sport. Before getting this car I took another one just like that for a 1/2 an hour test drive and I really loved the seats so I decided that I needed one. But that one felt a bit beat up even though it only had 20k miles on it. So I found another car.. It has 25k and looks like new. Took it for a 15 minutes test drive and bought it.
A few days later during my long 1.5 hrs commute I realized that the bolstered backrest is perfect, but the bolsters on the bottom of the seat combined with a very thick and hard seam dig into my legs to the point it is really painful.
So for now I ordered some seat cushion from amazon and intend to use it for now but I have a few questions for those who have experience with these seats::
1. Do these bolsters become a bit softer and flatter over time. I suspect that the previous owner of this specific car could've been smaller and so maybe he didn't push on the bolsters as much. And I hope that after some use they will flatten a bit. Maybe that's why it felt good in the first car that I tested? I'm asking because I can definitely tell the difference between left and right bolsters. The left one is softer. If it's something that just takes time maybe the solution is to simply drive it with a cushion for a few months until it gets into the right shape.
2. I'm also exploring an option of getting an auto upholsterer to modify these seats. Cut off the bolsters and redo the cover. One of the upholsterers told me on the phone that the cover could be molded to the foam and if so there's not much he can do which sounds really weird. Another said that it can be done. Does anyone have any experience or advice?
Any advice would be appreciated.

I had a new 2021 Fsport and traded it in a few months ago because the same issue you have.I tried pads and nothing worked and it got so bad my left leg would hurt from the nerve being pinched and had to get rid of it.
I bought a 2024 ES350 ultra luxury and its been a game changer for me
Hope you find a answer that will fix it for you.

Update: Well, either the seats actually get comfier over time or our bodies get used to them. But I think it's mostly the seats... After a first painful week with the car the second week was much better. Now a month later the seats feel perfectly fine to me during my 1.5 hours commute. I tried a few cushions and found one that worked well but somehow ended up never using it and just used the seat as is.

I LOVE the F-Sport seats in our 2022. They are extremely comfortable, and the bolsters are just right and comfortable. What may be different with my experience is that I am used to sporty seats in my vehicles. I'm 6'3" and 195 lbs., not overweight but not skinny. I was surprised to read one person was having their leg go numb from the bolsters. I think it has more to do with someone not having these types of seats before, and just not used to that formed fit. I have an M3 with sports seats and previous vehicles were a Legacy GT and 1993 SHO that all had bolstered sport seats. The SHO even had adjustable bolsters that I used to adjust in for a more snug fit. The RX's are by far the most comfortable. I also love the NuLuxe, it feels great and appears to be durable.

RX350 Comfort/discomfort
I have been driving a 2005 4Runner for the last 13 years. Thought I was treating myself when I recently bought a ‘17 RX F sport. Turns out I just cannot get comfortable. I am
having a terrible time. I didn’t have an issue in the test drive but after driving it for a while several things bother me. I am not a big person either, average height and weight.
The f sport seats are horrible. The bolsters dig into my thighs and they feel very narrow.
My commute is mostly highway +30 miles one way and I use cruise control a LOT which means I pull my heels up closer to the seat and my leg just below my knee rests up against the center console. That thing is too wide and it’s just painful to rest my leg against it.
I love how the car drives and looks, but I am paving a hell of a time.
Anyone else have this issue and ride it out? How is it today after giving it a chance?

Some purchased back support cushions from Amazon. You can do a search on this forum to find out what worked best.
