Indeed, the interior is just phenomenal. For us, it all comes down to the third row, which we would like to have. If we decide to stick with two rows, we'll head right on down to our dealer and pick up a new RX, for sure.

Check out the xc90 if ya need 3 rows.
On a side note though, Porsche hold value like no other vehicle even with their problems. Mid tier cayennes really depreciate nicely just like the Lexus.

Exact same reaction from my wife; she loves her second generation RX and hates the looks of the new RX. The only SUV she really likes is the Range Rover Sport

Which is really just a box on wheels

Im surprised a lot of people say "OMG that Lexus RX looks cheap because it has plastic on the bottom and on the wheel arches". Funny how they don't see the collossal area of plastic on the RR Sport

Any car that sports plastic is not a luxury vehicle in my opinion. That is if the sticker is over $35,000.

I hope the new RX does well.

The New 2017 GMC Acadia will have the option of body color wheel wheels and a plastic version too. I guess every manufacturer is going for this look. Another stupid trend I guess.

I am afraid you will find plastic in even the highest cost vehicles. Plastic mixed with carbon fiber is way better than steel or aluminum in many applications.

Too bad every car uses plastic, even in critical areas like the window motor regulator cough cough MB, that will break after exactyl the warranty ends lol

I think that the 2016 RX is by FAR the nicest looking SUV on the market -- the front, profile and rear. The SUV has extremely aggressive lines. The interior is a huge improvement over past generations, and might not be THE best, but it's pretty close, with some real standout features like the humongous 12.3" screen and an incredible HUD.

Of course, all that's very subjective, and if you or your wife don't like the look -- or the Lexus-style grill -- it just isn't the car for you!

Default Hud !

I happen to love the HUD, l have had it in my last 3 vettes. It must have been in a package and missed it on the rx

We just need a Suv for sports gear, supermarket and trips. Around town l use a golf cart, my Audi vert and new model Avalon gather dust. Switching out the Avalon ( leased).

The vette is a fair weather only car.

Will relook the RX

Thanks

I got to spend some time with a couple of higher spec' RX's at the car show, they had a luxury model and an F Sport. The ones I've seen at dealers were all base models.

I like the vehicle a lot, I think the styling looks great, obviously higher packages with the better wheels and all make a big difference.

I will bet on the plastic from Lexus lasting longer than any MB. There is a lot of plastics in all vehicles these days, inside and out. I see nothing wrong with plastic as long as it is the right plastic I am good with that. I seldom own vehicle past their warranty so that is a non-issue to me.

We will be getting an SUV when our leases are up in January '17. A coupe and a convertible just don't cut it anymore. I like the RX exterior, although I think it's trying too hard, but the interior is what really puts it on my consideration list. Starting with the 4GS, Lexus has really been putting out some nice, modern interiors.
