I asked about water leakage and the SA told me there is a seal behind the badge....how tight, don't know. There are no issues with the paint being marred or scratched. ...at least with mine. It slides pretty easily. So yes, floats above it is a good description.

I was at the dealer to have my Touch free door opening emblem badge..whatever it's called replaced as mine was very loose. As it turns out the wrong part came in....Apparently there are two kinds, depending on something???

So the technician just added an extra seal and fitted it a little better than from the factory. The badge is nice and snug now, no side to side issues.

By the way you would never guess what the hands free touch badge costs...$800 Canadian as per the SA. Unbelievable...

I wouldn't want to be able to open with the key fob in car....safety would be my concern.

My emblem is tight, does not move at all. I would take that to Lexus to get it fixed.
I repeat, I have never had the need to use my elbow however if I did I would wonder how I ever got along without the elbow or kick maneuver.
Re safety concerns, you can only open the hatch with the key in your pocket however if you use the latch you don't need the key fob at all, am I missing something here??

Not sure if you are asking a question or making a statement here?

in theory, you can't use the latch if your arms are full. Yes you are missing the point.

I am guessing that Lexus did not want the hatch to open when the fob is in the car because there could be an electrical malfunction and the hatch could pop open while driving.

My only worry with this whole hatch set-up is waiting for the day when it decides to open up on it's own/fob issue/user issue/etc, with the garage door closed!

I see many that can't utilize the feature. Does anyone know how to check that the feature is turned on? I'm looking at p101 and it says PBD needs to be turned on under system settings. I went into the vehicle setting/other vehicle settings but only see two things there: Driver Exit and Open position adjustment. Where do you go to check if PBD is all turned on? Thanks.

One thing he missed to explain also is that if you double tap the "Close" PBD switch not only does it closes the PBD but also locks the vehicle at the same time.

Yep that's what I see on P101 manual. But I didn't see what they were talking about. I just answered my question myself. Thanks TekKie for posting the video. I was setting on the big display. When you change setting like the guy does, it's the same like the manual talks about but not if you do on the big screen. Interesting.

Why thanks! I've been standing there waiting for the PBD to close and lock, then I'd lock the rest of the doors!
