The seatbelt warning alarm and light for the front passenger seat in my car randomly goes off, even when no one or nothing is on the seat. The alert stops if I buckle the passenger seatbelt, even though the seat is empty. It doesn’t happen every time the car is started, and it's hard to consistently reproduce.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Any suggestions for possible fixes before I take it to the dealer and they say they can't reproduce it?

 

Might check the connections under the seat and seat belt sensor wires for breaks or cuts, etc.

 

The issue is with the occupancy sensor circuit. There is a module and a sensor under the seat for this and you could have issue with either, or the wiring.
