Smile RX450h 2020 hook kick sensor

Hello,

I recently purchased RX450h 2020 model and it has a hook.

The kick sensor (even if enabled from settings) does seems to be working (tried multiple ways).

Might the fact that is has a hook block the kick sensor? I will visit dealer in about 2 weeks due to holidays but just to be able to sleep at night, if anyone has some idea on this i would be grateful

If the "hook"/hitch was not from the factory then, alas, that's probably at the root of the problem is. If, on the other hand, your hitch is factory installed then one out of 2 things are going on. The first thing is proper operation of the kick feature. It took me a long time to get this right but you can't be too close to the vehicle, or too far from it. You also can't have your leg touch the bumper, you just need to go back and forth with your foot under the bumper with a smooth motion without touching anything. If this does not work it's off to the dealer if it's still under warranty, if it's not then just use the key FOB and save yourself a ton of $.

It seems that in Europe the procedure they need to follow when installing hitch is to turn off kick sensor.
