Default Thump when traveling about 65-70

I have a noticeable thump when traveling about 65-70 and the transmission automatically shifts from 6 th gear to 5th when going up a hill. This happens in all drive modes…eco, sport and standard as well as auto speed control. This 2019 RX 350 was purchased from Hoffman Lexus in East Hartford, Ct. in 2020 as a certified vehicle with only 8k miles. Upon the first service I reported this issue and have done so at every required service completed at the dealer. The answer is always the same. No coding and failure to replicate during road test. In the old days I would think this is a torque converter issue. The vehicle has 40,167 miles and is out of the certified warranty coverage. Has anyone else had this issue and is there a regional service manager contact for my area? I plan to keep the car for several more years and I’m concerned this could be an expensive problem that should have been corrected when the vehicle was under warranty.

All the tires are working fine? When we purchased our 2019 RXL, we found the tires were bad at 13K miles causing weird noises. So we replaced the tires and all weird tire and driving noises were gone.

Default Thump

Tires are good. This is purely a transmission issue or perhaps a technical issue in the computer system. In need the name of the northeast Lexus service authority.

A 2019 RX 350 I believe has an 8 speed transmission and would normally downshift from 8th gear to 7th gear when going up a mild incline. This would be normal for any car with automatic transmission. A more pronounced uphill segment of road could cause a more dramatic downshift to 6th gear or lower.

Oops! I meant downshifting from 8 to 7th gear. It’s a very discomforting thump and happens too often.
I have used the Hoffman website to request a meeting with a manager but have not heard back.
