For the last several months the temperature display on my '21 RX450h has been way off. Today, it is currently 95 degrees at my house and the car display reads 77 degrees. I drove out for a 10-minute trip and the temperature showed 77 degrees the whole time. We took a 1-1/2 hour trip two days ago and the display read mid-80's during the drive there (temp was 104 degrees in the town) and finally got as high as 102 degrees when we got home (temp at home was 106). I think that the display reads low only in the warmer seasons as the winter temps seemed to be OK.

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this? I live 2-1/2 hours from the nearest Lexus dealership and I'm sure that they would not spend much time trying to correct this issue.

 

I'm not familiar with this, but I would suspect a defective sensor somewhere. Many on here have suggested going to a Toyota dealer for Lexus problems if you have one close to you.

 

I seem to remember this issue but it resolved itself. I think it happened just after a service appt. They reset the computer crap etc. Mine read 77 for awhile and I'm in FL where it was more like 97 that day. After a short time, it began working normally again.
