Default Have you repaced your wheel locks?

Every time I visit my local tire shop I am encouraged to get rid of the wheel locks. Seems if someone is determined to steal the wheels they will either smash your window to get to the glovebox or find another way to get the wheels.
So, today I decided to purchase 4 OEM lug nuts and be done with it. Plus, the wheel locks were getting sort of rusty.

I did that on my old (2010) RAV4.

I did the same thing had them removed at the first tire rotation and replaced with regular lug nuts. I personally never liked the look and if they want them bad enough they will get them. i have heard that they aren't a unique pattern and that master removal keys can be had.

Wheel locks are like screen door locks. They are effective against the owner and no one else.

I like my wheel locks, at least as a deterrent. Just have to be religious where you keep it (with my spare tire).

If you are going to run wheel locks I would recommend the Gorilla brand. They have a style that has notches around the outside of the nut. Less likely to break or wear out.
